I began working with people in 1982 as a counsellor. Through many years as a natural health practitioner I have looked for newer and more efficient ways to help people, and since introducing hypnotherapy into my practice in 1999, I have been very impressed with the results. Hypnotherapy is a fast, and lasting means to make changes in brain patterns. My motto is: “It is not the person who is the problem, it is the problem which is the problem.” Thus my client and I set about finding the right solution which will give my client freedom from the problem and an ability to be themself in a more positive, more satisfying and effective way. Some examples:
Mr A was addicted to gambling and he came to me aware his wife and family could take no more. He had been a gambler since the age of thirteen, but within two sessions he had lost all desire to gamble because we had completely changed his brain pattern.
Miss B had a phobia of dogs so severe it was restricting her movements; she would turn down invitations to friends’ houses if it involved walking past houses where dogs barked. Two sessions later she was sitting on the sofa patting her aunt’s new dog on the head.
Mrs C had trouble sleeping. Not only did we change this pattern, we sorted out a long term pattern of worrying over hurts which had begun in her childhood.
Miss D was sexually abused as a child. We located damaging beliefs inside her mind: “I am worthless” “I don’t deserve to be loved” “All men can’t be trusted”. Taking each belief in turn we changed the neurological pathways so that she could choose her beliefs about herself, eg “I deserve to be loved”. We healed her past hurts and gave her a choice about how she would act in the future.
Each session lasts an hour and a quarter. We continue until my client feels the problem is sorted. It is not like counselling – hypnotherapy is very forward looking and seeks to create what the client wants to happen, rather than go over events the client didn’t want to happen. If we need to go back to the past we go back with the sole purpose of using hypnosis and distancing techniques to create healing. Hypnotherapy is a safe and enjoyable method of solving problems.
Cost is £45 per session. No smoking = two sessions: Session 1 Preparation. Session 2 Stop smoking.
