Elizabeth Laity

Elizabeth Laity, physiotherapist

I qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1984 from The Middlesex Hospital, London.

I worked within the NHS and then worked for 10 years at St Michael’s Hospital in Hayle. In 2006 I went into Private practise and have continued with this in the Penzance area.

Physiotherapy is a holistic profession and I look at the whole person when they visit for help with any problem. I am a manual therapist – which means I use my hands to feel and treat injured tissue and realign/mobilise joints. Treatment is often backed up with individually planned home exercises which can be sent to you by email.

I treat both acute and chronic injuries ie. Sprains, strains, sciatica, back and neck pain, joint pain and post operative joint replacement. I treat people with neurological conditions.

I trained in Acupuncture about 15 years ago through the Association of Acupuncturists in Physiotherapy, and use this when appropriate to treat musculoskeletal problems – sometimes alongside traditional physiotherapy.

I am registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC), Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and Association of Acupuncturists in Physiotherapy (AACP).
